(a very quick tutorial. I’m having health issues right now, but I promised that this tutorial will be up when VerIKA reaches 100 downloads. Thank you for your support and thank you for everyone’s get well soon wishes…)
On April fools 2024 and 2025, I released Splatoon-inspired ‘appends’ for my two Voicebanks, Ceta (CETALOPOD) and Veria (VerIKA). This tutorial (briefly) covers how to create similar sounding effects for your Voicebank, either by editing their samples or their rendered Voicebanks.

Until I get better, this tutorial only covers usage with BandLab, and for editing samples (I really hope everyone who only wants to edit rendered audio is able to follow it with your own adjustments). This tutorial is inspired by a tutorial for inkling effects from TikTok that I can’t find anymore.
Having samples is a must - Having a finished oto is not necessary, BUT greatly recommended as the edited samples can make it hard to properly oto. 2. Sign up to BandLab. Create a new project. 3. Put your samples in the tracks. If you have configured your vb, put extra care to ensure that all your samples start at the very beginning of the track. 4. On the left side of your tracks, click the +Fx icon. Add an Auto-Wah effect, and copy the preset I have made below and adjust to your tastes. Pitch shifter not necessary if you don’t like a higher pitch.
Create a Preset and apply it on all your tracks. When you’re done, just click the hamburger icon next to the BandLab logo, and Project → Download → Tracks. If I recall correctly you do need to export them one by one because there isn’t an option to bounce as separate tracks, so happy clicking…!

In the future, I will cover editing samples without BandLab with a free Auto-Wah Plugin. Send good vibes so I get better because just sitting down to make this article made me nauseous!!!!!!!!!!
